I’ve created a bookshop to recommend my favorite books and support Indie bookstores. Check it out.
My latest book crush is Tamsyn Muir’s Locked Tomb trilogy. I’m reading Harrow the Ninth (this link is a review with SPOILERS) right now. Slowly. To make it last. I started reading it and realised I needed to re-read the precursor book. And then read it again.
So I’ve read Gideon the Ninth three times this year. I don’t know. Something about it was deeply helpful to this teacher living through a pandemic while facing climate change and dealing with an increasingly fascistic government. Gideon the Ninth = Lesbian necromancers explore a haunted gothic palace in space.
If you are younger than I am, which you probably are, you will get more of the meme jokes in Muir’s writing than I did. I have been reading this blog to try to catch all the things I know I’ve missed. I will undoubtedly be reading Harrow again. Probably immediately.
And then I will wait. Because the pub date for the third book has not been announced. In the meantime, I will read this short story by Muir, and try to find something else which will distract me from the end times.
